Workshops:

Tuesday, October 14, 9:00–12:00, room UA178

Workshop: “Unveiling New Horizons: Mapping Scientific Cooperation and Building Sustainable Academic Networks”

Annotation: "Unveiling New Horizons" is a collaborative forum dedicated to expanding the scope of our academic reach through strategic international partnerships. The workshop will facilitate direct engagement between our departmental representatives and global university delegates. Through interactive presentations and focused discussions, participants will gain insights into each other's research strengths, pinpointing interdisciplinary overlaps ripe for collaborative ventures. This event serves as a crucial platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and establishing concrete pathways for future joint initiatives in research, grant acquisition, and scholarly dissemination. We aim to build enduring academic networks that transcend geographical boundaries and drive innovation.

During this session, we will firstly introduce our university REFRESH project and focus on exploring future research cooperation.

Wednesday, October 15, 9:00–12:30, room UA178

Two workshops within U!REKA project led by our colleague Dr. Kateřina Kashi:

  • Presentation Skills

Annotation:

Effective presentations are more than just slides—they are about engaging your audience with clarity, confidence, and impact. In this interactive 90-minute workshop, participants will explore practical techniques to structure a talk, use body language and voice effectively, and handle nerves. Through short activities and peer feedback, you will learn how to communicate your ideas persuasively in academic, professional, and intercultural contexts. No matter your starting point, you will leave with tools to make your next presentation more dynamic and memorable.

  • Procrastination

Annotation:

We all know the feeling of delaying important tasks until the last minute—but why do we procrastinate, and how can we break the cycle? This 90-minute workshop combines insights from psychology with hands-on strategies to help participants better understand their own procrastination patterns. Together, we will identify common traps, explore practical time-management and motivational techniques, and experiment with small changes that make a big difference. By the end of the session, you will leave with personalized strategies to boost focus, reduce stress, and work more effectively.

Thursday, October 16, 9:00–11:00, room UA178

Workshop: “Navigating Global Collaboration: Strategic Projects and Partnerships”

This session will focus on international educational projects we are currently involved in, such as U!REKA, BIPs, COILs, International Credit Mobility, and Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships. It will also offer space to connect with other participants and explore opportunities to develop future joint initiatives in this area.

Annotation: "Navigating Global Collaboration: Strategic Projects and Partnerships" offers a deep dive into the practicalities and opportunities of international academic cooperation, with a specific focus on the successful endeavors of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava and its Faculty of Economics. This workshop will illuminate diverse pathways for engagement, from established mobility programs like Erasmus+ (KA171 & KA2) and CEEPUS to innovative alliances such as U!REKA and cutting-edge virtual and blended learning initiatives like COIL and BIP. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how these programs facilitate joint research, educational innovation, and the building of lasting international networks. The session aims to inspire new collaborative ventures and provide a roadmap for maximizing the impact of global partnerships.
