Dear colleagues,
we are pleased to invite you to the next edition of International Week at the Faculty of Economics, VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic.
In 2010 we started the tradition of “International Week” as an international meeting place in order to inspire and stimulate people from many countries who are working in educational field (economic, business, entrepreneurial, international and similar fields).
Experience a vibrant international atmosphere and seize the opportunity to provide lectures for students, forge new partnerships, and indulge in a captivating array of social activities during our
16th International Week.
Join us at the Faculty of Economics, VSB - Technical University of Ostrava,
October 13-17, 2025.
Our primary objective for this week is to offer our students, both local and international, the invaluable opportunity to attend lectures delivered by guest lecturers from our partner institutions. Simultaneously, we aim to strengthen existing collaborations while fostering the development of new partnerships in teaching, research, and project initiatives across our institutions.
This year's program is packed with engaging workshops and exciting opportunities for both academic staff and students. Beyond the academic sessions, you're also invited to a social program including a theatre visit during the International Week. We believe this will be a fantastic opportunity to network and experience the cultural highlights of Ostrava.
We truly hope you'll take this great opportunity again to meet colleagues from all over Europe and participate in the International Week in Ostrava.

Funding: There is no conference fee. The international participants will pay their travel expenses, accommodation cost, and meals on their own. It is possible to apply for funding within the Erasmus+ programme. The host institution will cover the costs of local travel, welcome lunch, farewell dinner, and some free time activities.

Registration: Registration is made by filling out the registration form no later than July 31, 2025. Selected participants will be informed by email after August 15, 2025.

Our esteemed guests are invited to participate in the following programme:
Lectures: We invite our colleagues from partner universities to present their students experience of different teaching styles, lecturing in English, acquiring new knowledge and experience, and meeting our partner universities. But on the other hand we also would like our partners to experience teaching Czech students in a different background. Lectures will have the opportunity to meet, discuss, and exchange ideas and best practises with colleagues from other universities.

1. Unveiling New Horizons: Mapping Scientific Cooperation and Building Sustainable Academic Networks

"Unveiling New Horizons" is a collaborative forum dedicated to expanding the scope of our academic reach through strategic international partnerships. The workshop will facilitate direct engagement between our departmental representatives and global university delegates. Through interactive presentations and focused discussions, participants will gain insights into each other's research strengths, pinpointing interdisciplinary overlaps ripe for collaborative ventures. This event serves as a crucial platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and establishing concrete pathways for future joint initiatives in research, grant acquisition, and scholarly dissemination. We aim to build enduring academic networks that transcend geographical boundaries and drive innovation.
2. Navigating Global Collaboration: Strategic Projects and Partnerships

"Navigating Global Collaboration: Strategic Projects and Partnerships" offers a deep dive into the practicalities and opportunities of international academic cooperation, with a specific focus on the successful endeavors of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava and its Faculty of Economics. This workshop will illuminate diverse pathways for engagement, from established mobility programs like Erasmus+ (KA171 & KA2) and CEEPUS to innovative alliances such as U!REKA and cutting-edge virtual and blended learning initiatives like COIL and BIP. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how these programs facilitate joint research, educational innovation, and the building of lasting international networks. The session aims to inspire new collaborative ventures and provide a roadmap for maximizing the impact of global partnerships.
