Title
Education Towards Circular And Sustainable Economy
Code
2023-1-CZ01-KA220-SCH-000160685
Summary
Our project will contribute to solve the problem of varied consumer behavior and ineffective pro-environmental programs and initiatives aimed at secondary school pupils aged 15-19 (Mid and Late Teenagers – MLT), which are currently used to move the circular economy forward. This challenge affects in particular educational institutions, waste management companies, enterprises, NGOs and local public authorities from the Czech republic, Poland, Italy, Slovenia and Germany. In fact, these stakeholders need tools that are effective and at the same time attractive to MLT, to influence their behaviors regarding sustainable consumption for and circular economy. To achieve this, 6 partners from 5 countries collaborate to develop practical and effective tools for behavioral changes of MLT, which are currently lacking or inadequate in the project countries. We start by gaining a multilateral perspective in evaluating MLT; then we conduct experiments to objectively assess the sources of MLT's pro- and anti-environmental attitudes. Next, we work on innovative solutions through engagement in real actions (re-use centers, hackathon, contest) and in green education (teaching materials, lectures, trainings and sustainability reporting) so that MLT make more green decisions. As a result, teachers, school managers and decision makers will gain ready-to-use and tested tools and guidelines to support MLT green behaviors. In three years of cooperation, we expect that implemented solutions willsolutions, will be made available to local authorities and key stakeholders, thus reducing environmental pollution and non-recyclable waste in the project regions.
